This
list is only a guide. The camper must plan well and use good judgment. Remember
the Scout Motto: Be Prepared.
Where are we camping? What time of the year
is it. What type of shelter are we using? What is the weather forecast?
In
addition, here are some general guidelines about clothing/gear selection to
maximize the item’s usefulness year round.
Ř
Use
what you have, do not buy new cloths just for camping.
Ř
Cloths
should be comfortable and non constricting (loose is better than tight)
Ř
We
teach and practice the layering method, many garments can be used for all 4
seasons
Ř
Outer
Garments should be hooded, wind and water resistant
Ř
Inner
Garments preferably synthetics, zippered or button down (ease of ventilation)
Ř
Under
Garments what you own, shirts, shorts (in winter long underwear made from
wicking type material)
